Risen King is uniquely blessed to have the most eminently qualified of Children’s Church teachers, beginning with pastor’s wife and Children’s Church Director, Jeanie Wallace. Jeanie’s greatest qualification is that she loves children. She has been a believer in Jesus for 50 years, received a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary in the late 70s as one of the first three women graduates of that school, and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska in Elementary and Special Education.
More than that, Jeanie has taught children professionally for decades. She has been both a first grade teacher and principal of a Christian school, and then most recently taught for 13 years as a first and second grade teacher in Nevada public schools, always receiving the highest marks from her school’s administrators.
Jeanie homeschooled our three girls, all of whom are believers in Christ and still attend Risen King.
Our daughters and one of their husbands assist in teaching Children’s Church as well. Gentle Amanda, a local full-time Christian preschool teacher, has a college elementary teaching degree. Her husband, Brandon, also has a college elementary teaching degree and is an excellent full-time fifth grade teacher. He has long been involved in leading Awana programs in several other local churches.
Our daughter Abby is also a very sweet full-time teacher at a local Christian preschool, specializing in toddlers. Daughter Annie, a mother of two preschoolers, helps out as well.
Jen Naprstek is often in Children’s Church since her daughter attends. She’s a great deaconess and a very caring and committed 25-year veteran of various ministries and experiences at Risen King.
Risen King’s Children’s Church typically consists of children aged 2-11. Age appropriate, Christ-centered and biblical teaching and activities are always on the menu.
